Das LightEdge ist ein Kreuz, das aus zwei beschichteten Plexiglasquadern besteht. Seine Form, Farbe, Volumen und seine Transparenz verändern sich je nach Perspektive und Lichteinfall. Das Kreuz „atmet“ im Rhythmus des Lichts: Aus einer nahezu farblosen, transluzenten Erscheinung entfalten sich zusätzliche farbige Formen, Reflexionen und Schatten – weit über die Grenzen des ursprünglichen Kreuzes hinaus. Wann beginnt das Objekt – und wo hört es auf? Das Kunstwerk spielt mit der räumlichen Begrenzung eines Objekts und mit seiner optischen wie zeitlichen Auflösung im Licht. Die LightEdges verändern sich fortwährend – im Licht und im Blick der Betrachter*innen. Immer nur im Moment, ganz in Präsenz.

The LightEdge is a cross composed of two coated Plexiglas cubes. Its shape, color, volume, and transparency shift depending on the perspective and incidence of light. The cross “breathes” in rhythm with the light: from an almost colorless, translucent appearance, additional colored shapes, reflections, and shadows unfold—far beyond the boundaries of the original cross. When does the object begin—and where does it end? The artwork plays with the spatial limitations of an object and with its optical and temporal dissolution in light. The LightEdges are in constant transformation—in the light and in the viewers’ gaze. Always only in the moment, completely in the present.
